YES. For all participants it is MANDATORY to send/present to the organization the aptitude medical certificate for cycling and compliant with the Ministerial Decree 02/18/1982 and/or the Ministerial Decree 04/26/2013 issued by a Sports Medical Center or by a qualified doctor . The medical certificate must be specific for CYCLING activity, we cannot accept medical certificates issued for other types of sports disciplines. The medical certificate must expire after the end of the event (01/09/2024), if the medical certificate does not comply it will be rejected and cancelled. Anyone who does not comply with this requirement will be considered not regularly registered and is not entitled to a refund of the registration fee.
Once you have completed the entire route and returned to our village, you will have to collect your event package. At the times indicated you will have the opportunity to eat at our stands that you will find inside our village.
Important: if you arrive at night (outside the indicated times) you may not find anything open to eat and you will certainly not be able to collect your event package.
YES. In this edition we have decided to limit the number of members to a maximum of 150. Unless the slot is changed.
NO. It’s not a competition. the ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2024 is a scheduled event that takes place during the summer and will be held in unsupported bikepacking mode to be done in full autonomy.
Participation in the ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2025 is linked to registration and payment of the ticket. Successful registration will be completed with the receipt of our confirmation email to the address provided within 24 hours.
YES. Pineto can be easily reached via the Pineto/Scerne main station or by public transport coming from the SOUTH (Pescara) or the NORTH (Ancona). By plane from Abruzzo International Airport to Pescara. Before purchasing the ticket, check whether you can take your bicycle on local transport, unfortunately this is not always possible.
NO. At the moment there are no indications/reports and/or warnings of any kind (we hope to be able to do so in the future… it is in the pipeline). Being unsupported, the only report available is the track in GPX format which will be provided to you together with a booklet containing all the information. (no one prohibits the use of tools like Google Maps or Apple Maps). For the rest it will be your on-board computer and your explorer’s desire that will guide you along the route.
YES. All participants in the ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2025 will find a list of shops and/or cycle workshops where they can rent a bicycle or request mechanical assistance for their vehicle. Purchase spare parts or technical material (not the responsibility of the organization).
ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2025 is an independent cycle tour (unsupported), there is no type of assistance along the entire route. Participants must ensure their bicycle is in good condition and have with them all the equipment with the necessary spare parts to resolve any mechanical problems that may arise (punctures, chain breakage, etc.). It is recommended to use a helmet, fit adequate rear and front lights on the bicycle, a bell, have a GPS device and, if necessary, a solar power bank. We recommend that all participants have adequate clothing, taking into account any weather conditions and travel times (Kway, spare t-shirt, heavier shirt, windproof, etc.). Tent, sleeping bag, mattress, lights, etc.. for those who want to spend the night outdoors.
NO. In the ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2025 there is no list of local refreshment activities (e.g. bars, groceries, restaurants, snack bars…) or places to stay overnight. We do not have any type of agreement along the route except those indicated in the program. The best way to find a place to sleep or eat is to use technology (Google Maps is great).
NO. As per the regulations, it is OBLIGATORY to read before proceeding with registration, no type of refund is foreseen. Nor the possibility of using the fee paid for the registration of another person or of transferring it to pay for the registration for the following year.

Participants will receive, 2 weeks before the start of the event, the .gpx trace of the entire route to upload to their on-board electronic computer (GPS). Furthermore, in addition to the electronic format, a Race kit containing a map with all the information will be delivered (during the registration phase, before departure).
NO. Unfortunately there is no possibility to register for the ABRUZZO GRAVEL 2025 outside the registration deadline. The period dedicated to registration is 6 months and is the only time in which it is possible to register. Registration will be open in January and closed in July unless the maximum number of participants is reached.
The route was designed and developed to be traveled with GRAVEL bicycles, but all types of bicycles suitable for use on cycle paths, dirt roads, asphalted roads, off-road, secondary roads and paths (hills or mountains) are permitted. MTBs or E-BiKEs (muscle and/or e-bikes) suitable for bikepacking are permitted.
